Finance Minister Karin Keller-Sutter to visit her counterpart in United Kingdom

Bern, 23.03.2026 — Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter will meet her UK counterpart, Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, in London on 24 March 2026. The ministers will discuss the agreement on mutual recognition in financial services and current geopolitical challenges, among other things.

The finance ministers will discuss the application of the Berne Financial Services Agreement (BFSA), which has been in force since 1 January 2026. The BFSA improves cross-border market access in the areas of banking, insurance, asset management and capital market infrastructure.

Geopolitical challenges and their impact on the financial markets will likewise be addressed.

Finally, the European financial markets' competitiveness will also be discussed during the meeting. Switzerland and the United Kingdom are committed to open financial markets and international financial stability.

While in London, Federal Councillor Karin Keller-Sutter will also meet with the Governor of the UK Central Bank and Chair of the Financial Stability Board, Andrew Bailey, as well as with representatives of the UK government.
